Wednesday, June 5 - Summer of Cans Kickoff Party @ Idle Hands, Manhattan:
Craft beer has a CAN do attitude. Lame. CAN you dig an all you CAN drink craft CAN party? Better. Seriously though, this Wednesday pay $20 for an all you can drink canned craft beer summer extravaganza. This kickoff of canned craft beers is featuring the Sly Fox brewery (long time canners) alongside 100+ other cans. All 12 oz. cans are only $4 if you choose to go the pay-as-you-play manner of doing things OR you could have a real CAN DO attitude and pay $20 (advance; $25 at the door) and get an all you CAN drink CANNED craft beers.
This event was terribly written. The event itself however will be terribly amazing.
Idle Hands is located at 25 Avenue B downstairs between 2nd and 3rd Streets in the Alphabet City neighborhood of Manhattan.
Thursday, June 6 - Meet the Brewery: New Jersey Beer Company @ The Iron Monkey, New Jersey
Jersey and booze have not gotten a good rap recently, what with all those bars adding food coloring to rubbing alcohol and serving it as Johnny Black. Ah, Jersey. Where liquor fails however, craft beer saves the day and has been in Jersey for quite some time now as they have joined the growing list of states with a burgeoning craft beer industry. The Iron Monkey will be hosting the New Jersey Beer Company this Thursday, so brave the New Jersey subway (I think it's called the PASS, or JATH, something trail-like) all the way to Jersey City (it's not that far, for real) and sample a few NJBC brews.
Hudson Pale Ale
1787 Abbey Single Ale
Weehawken Wee Heavy
And a special cask: Garden State Stout
And it's really called the PATH train. We were just jokin'.
The Iron Monkey is located at 99 Greene Street at York Street in Jersey City, New Jersey.
