Tuesday, January 8 - Night of the Bastards @ The Pony Bar HK, Manhattan:
There are so many craft brews out there that name themselves bastards. What does naming a beer "bastard" prove anyways, huh? Does it make it seem bigger, bolder, more intense, bitter, higher ABV??? Yes, it definitely does.
The Pony Bar Hell's Kitchen will be pouring a bunch of bastardly brews - think Stone's Double Bastard and Founder's Backwoods Bastard on top of whatever else fits the definition of "bastard."
The Pony Bar HK is located at 637 10th Avenue on the corner of 45th Street in the Hell's Kitchen neighborhood of Manhattan.
Wednesday, January 9 - Imperial Stout Night @ The Downtown Bar and Grill, Brooklyn:
I feel bad for imperial stouts. With all these big brews of different styles - double/imperial IPA's, barleywines, tripel's, bourbon aged, yhatta, yhatta - imperial stouts have lost some of their notorious press. Well, Downtown Bar and Grill is hoping to remind you of the infamous Imperial Stout style with a few, we'll call them "notable", brews.
Founders Kentucky Breakfast Stout 2011
Goose Island Bourbon County Stout 2008
Great Divide Espresso Oak Aged Yeti 2010
Dogfish Head World Wide Stout 2010
Dogfish Head Miles Davis' Bitches Brew 2011
Founders Imperial Stout 2011
I mean, really, really notable.
The Downtown Bar and Grill is located at 160 Court Street between Amity and Pacific Streets in the Downtown Brooklyn neighborhood of Brooklyn.
Thursday, January 10 - Weyebacher Tap Takeover @ Bierkraft, Brooklyn:
When one thinks of Weyerbacher beer they probably feel a shiver of mixed excitement and fear coarse through their bodies. Brand Manager Molly McDevitt will be heading over to Bierkraft this Thursday with a whole slew of their draughts to excite your taste buds while simultaneously punching you in the mouth.
Bierkraft is located at 191 5th Avenue between Union and Berkeley Streets in the Park Slope neighborhood of Brooklyn.
