New York City Craft Beer Events for the Week of October 7, 2012

Tuesday, October 9 - $10 Tuesday Tastings: Colorado Beers @ Jimmy's No. 43, Manhattan: The Great American Beer Festival is right around the corner.  Colorado is getting ready for the greatest beer weekend any state could dream of.  And we're stuck in NYC.  Well, you can still Colorado-it-up this Tuesday night at Jimmy's No. 43.  The newest installment of $10 Tuesday Tastings will guide you through the delicious world of Colorado beer, which is some of the best in the country.  The event starts right at 7:30 and if you want to imbibe, then don't be late!

Jimmy's No. 43 is located at 43 East 7th Street between 2nd and 3rd Avenues in the East Village neighborhood of Manhattan.

Tuesday, October 9 - Pumpkintoberfest! @ The Owl Farm, Brooklyn:

Fall beers: marzens, Octoberfests, pumpkins, etc.  The big debate is which ones to imbibe in order to properly celebrate autumn and the folks over at the Owl Farm have given us an answer:  All of them!  They are throwing  a true fall festival beer style tonight.  They'll be pouring the best of all the fall, not just focusing on one style.  Head on over to grab a pint or two from this lineup:

Southern Tier Pumking

Dogfish Head Punkin
Weyerbacher Imperial Pumpkin
Brooklyn Post Road Pumpkin
Southampton Pumpkin
Ayinger Oktoberfest
Flying Dog Dogtoberfest
Brooklyn Oktoberfest
McNeill's Oktoberfest
The Owl Farm is located at  297 9th Street just South of 5th Avenue in the Park Slope neighborhood of Brooklyn.
Thursday, October 11 - Brewery Ommegang Tap Takeover @ Bierkraft, Brooklyn:
Does Belgian inspired American craft beer brewed out of a palatial manner deep in the rolling hills of upstate New York green country interest you in any way?  We thought so.  Brewery Ommegang is carting their finest draughts from their upstate castle to  Park Slope's Bierkraft  this Thursday as they take over the taps for your imbibing pleasure.  They are bringing quite the diverse (and STRONG) selection, so you might want to bring a growler or two to save for later rather than attempting to try all of them that night.
Ha.  You'd never try them all in one night, that would just be ridiculous.

Belgian Pale Ale
Rare Vos
Scythe and Sickle
Biere d'Hougomount
Bierkraft is located at 191 5th Avenue between Union and Berkeley Streets in the Park Slope neighborhood of Brooklyn.
Saturday, October 13 - Founders Takes over Cortelyou @ Sycamore, Brooklyn:
The folks at Sycamore have really been bringing their "A" game recently.  First roasting whole pigs while serving up endless pints of Lagunitas.  Now, bringing Founders in for a all day beer and food fest with the food craftsmen and women from the Farm on Adderley (same guys as the pig roasters).  The pints will be $5 all day long and they're promising some rare and seasonal specials as well as your usual Founders favorites.
The Sycamore is located at 1118 Coretlyou Road between East 11th Street and Westminster Road in the Flatbush/Ditmas Park neighborhood of Brooklyn.
