Thursday, November 3 - IPA Night! @ Bierkraft, Brooklyn:

Happy birthday Bierkraft!  How would you like to celebrate turning 10 years old?  Oh, you say you'd like to round up all your favorite IPA's and take over your taps with them?  Thursday at 7?  For everyone's enjoyment?  That sounds like an excellent birthday party.  We also love hops (I mean, we have two resident hop-heads) and we would love to celebrate your birthday.  See you on Thursday.

Bierkraft is located at 191 5th Avenue between Berkeley and Union Streets, Park Slope, Brooklyn.

Thursday, November 3 - Mikkeller Black Hole Tasting @ Sunswick 35/35, Queens:

I think it's fair to say that the barrel-aging trend is a fantastic one.  Mikkeller is taking it to the next step.  This Thursday is International Stout Day and Mikkeller has figured out the perfect way to celebrate - barrel aging their Black Hole Stout in just about every type of barrel you can think of.  There's the bourbon, the cognac, peat whiskey (personal favorite) and tequila.  These brews are not easy to find, so if you want a (four) unique perspective on an already great stout then be sure not to miss this event.

Sunswick 35/35 is located at 35-02 35th Street at 35th Avenue, Astoria, Queens.

Friday, November 4 - Sunday, November 6 - Williamsburg Cask Festival @ dba Brooklyn, Brooklyn:

Ah, the elusive art of cask ales.  An art that we plan on exploring enthusiastically this weekend at dba Brooklyn.  Beer guru Alex Hall, working alongside dba Brooklyn, will betapping 16 hard to find firkins of cask ale on Friday.  As of now, they say that the casks are projected to last until Sunday, but there is only one firkin of each kind, so like the recently extinct Vietnam Rhino, once they're dead, they're dead for good.  Unlike the Vietnam Rhino, killing one of these firkin species will leave you feeling fantastic.

dba Brooklyn is located at 113 North 7th Street between Wythe Avenue and Berry Street, Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
