New York City Craft Beer Events for the Week of October 16, 2011

Tuesday, October 18 - Harpoon Night @ The Pony Bar Manhattan: We all get older.  Unlike beer most of us don't get better with age.  Good thing we talk about beer here.  Harpoon is turning 25 this year and is celebrating with a year's worth of birthday events.  They'll be showing up with bells on and carrying kegs of Leviathan Series, 100 Barrel Series, seasonal brews and casks.  Peter Brod, Harpoon's NYC man, will be on hand to walk you through their quarter decade collection.

The Pony Bar is located at 637 10th Avenue on the Northwest Corner of 45th Street, Hell's Kitchen, Manhattan.

Tuesday, October 18 - Clown Shoes Brewery Kickoff @ Rattle n' Hum, Manhattan:

It seems like a new brewery is making its way into the New York market every week.  Well, let's welcome a new one - Clown Shoes Brewery from Massachusetts.  This Ipswich breweries owner/brew Gregg Berman will be bringing an interesting selection with him and will be happy to share his passion with you.  Check out the list:

Clementine (Witbier), Eagle Claw Fist (American Strong), Brown Angel (Brown), Tramp Stamp IPA, Lubrication (Black IPA) and Muffin Top (Belgian Strong).

Rattle n' Hum is located at 14 East 33rd Street between 5th and Madison, Midtown, Manhattan.

Wednesday, October 19 - Troeg's Night @ The Stag's Head, Manhattan:

Troeg's is happy to be presenting their diverse selection at the Stag's Head this Wednesday.  They'll be bringing some of their Scratch selections, their staples (Troegenator!) and the Vanilla Java Bean on cask.  AJ Boglioli will also be on hand to entertain you with his tap-dancing routine.

Saturday, October 22 - Richmond County Beer Festival @ Richmond County Bank Ballpark, Staten Island:

Richmond County has been throwing a beer festival that has grown to epic proportions.  This Saturday is your lucky day - you get to be a part of it.  Picking up a $35 ticket from the website will score you an all inclusive beer and food filled afternoon from 1 - 5 pm at the same ballpark where the Staten Island Yanks play.  There will be dozens of craft breweries on hand for your tasting pleasure and plenty of Staten Island food favorites.

Tickets can be ordered on the SI Yankees Web site at with the code word: Beer.  You can also contact Tak at Richmond County Bank Ballpark, St. George, 718-313-1306 or by email
