Well, some of us haven't got over the collective excitement (and hangover) we've received from New Years Eve. If you need some relief then we'd suggest you head on out to your local craft beer venue and get some liquid hangover cure. And if you resolved to drink less beer in 2011 then well, we at the Beer Friends think you need to reassess your life goals. I mean, this website isn't called the "Drink-Less-Beer-Friends" for a reason. This week is a bit light on the events. Looks like we're not the only ones with hangovers...
Wednesday, January 5 - Craft Can and Grilled Cheese Night @ Nita Nita, Brooklyn: This event hasn't made an appearance for awhile but we think it is extremely appropriate this week. Nothing gets you over a new year like grilled cheese. In fact we're pretty sure it cures any ailment. Head on over to Williamsburg for the "Variety Pack" Special - 2 craft cans of your choosing and a Gruyere grilled cheese for $15. Easy on the brain, easy on the wallet.
Nita Nita is located at 146 Wythe Avenue at North 8th Street in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
Thursday, January 6 - Fermented NY Craft Beer Crawl @ Craft Beer Bars, Williamsburg, Brooklyn: Alright, it's Thursday. The New Year is about a week old. The pain of changing the date should have subsided by now and you are ready to rejoin the craft beer world like your own normal self. Well, if you're looking to really dive back into the pool then this is the event for you. Head out on a pub crawl with Fermented NY that will take you to get you 10 beers at Williamsburg's best craft beer bars and one specialized beer store. Also includes what they call a "substantial" amount of food to keep you rolling through the night. At $55 you gotta be sure that you are back in force, but with the beer and food it's a steal of a night out.
Advanced reservations for the Fermented NY Event can be found at www.urbanoyster.com.
Thank you Williamsburg for offering us the only two real craft beer events in the boroughs of NYC this week. We'll remember you for this in the future... Hope to see you out recovering this week. Happy New Years from the Beer Friends!
